The Marcia is situated in the attractive village of Bishopthorpe; 2 miles South of York just off the A64 (A1036 slip road), close to the Archbishop’s Palace, the River Ouse and York’s wonderful Racecourse
Adam, Jenny and Albert Harris have been at the Marcia for the last twelve years, and many of our staff have been here with us for several years.
We pride ourselves in getting to know our customers so that we can learn of their likes and dislikes. But if you are only able to make a single visit you can be still sure of a warm welcome. We had a complete refurbishment four years ago which has enabled us to open up our eating area to accommodate up to 80 diners or 100 for a buffet. As the French doors open onto our very large garden, during warmer weather we are able to cater for many more.
The Marcia is a perfect setting for weddings, christenings, anniversaries and celebrations of all kinds.
Our close proximity to the York Crematorium means that funeral teas are a regular event, and in such circumstances we offer a room with complete privacy.
With advance booking we are occasionally able to offer overnight accommodation.
The Marcia is very close to York Racecourse and coach parties are welcome with prior bookings either for a trip to the races or a day out to visit all that York has to offer. We are also a convenient stop-off point for morning coffee or lunch on you way to the coast (or dinner on your way home!)
We run a dog friendly, child friendly environment with a large garden, which is ideal for sitting out in the summer.
